Happy Birthday my gorgeous little girl. Wow! You are three years old now and I can’t believe how quickly the last year has flown by!
You might be another year older but you are still such a dinky and gorgeous little cutie. You’ve grown a little in height (but not much) and your feet are still quite petite too, we’ve been able to get a lot of use out of your clothes and shoes! But the one thing that is growing by the day is your personality!
You are such a funny little thing with a wonderful imagination. You love anything imaginative or creative and can sit for ages role playing and chattering away to yourself. You have had two imaginary friends for a short period this year and told us they were a little girl and a little boy. They popped up occasionally but were soon replaced by Cinderella and Rapunzel who remain your firm friends still today as you enter your third year, so much so you even push them on the swings not allowing other children to sit on them because Cinderella and Rapunzel are on them!
You are absolutely obsessed with Cinderella and have the DVD making us watch it over and over again. You sit as if in a mesmerized trance taking in every part of it and on a daily basis you re-enact the Cinderella story telling us all that we are going to the ball and asking mummy to sing the ball music and dance with you as the Prince, as well as trying on the glass slipper. It is so adorable.
You also love the other Disney Princesses, as well as Barbie and Tinkerbell and like watching the Barbie and Fairy movies. Your birthday has seen lots of new additions to your toy box and a new stage of toy too with Barbie, Rapunzel, Cinderella and Silver Mist dolls. You got your first bicycle, a Barbie one of course so we are really looking forward to teaching to ride this!
You still love Play Doh and got a Disney Princess Play Doh Castle set for your birthday and you love all things creative and stickers! You can spend ages sat doing sticker books and love to make things, especially if you can add lots of sequins and glitter! Mummy and Daddy’s house is often covered in them for weeks!
Your book collection is rapidly growing and you love your bedtime stories. We have a great variety of books and are always looking for fun new ones to read. I think we may have to set you up with your own personal library room if we ever win the lottery! All this reading has paid off though as everyone tells us what a great little communicator you are and how good your speech and vocabulary is and that makes me feel really proud.
As well as a creative and imaginative personality you also have an amazingly strong will! If you want to do something or can’t have something there is absolutely no stopping you and if anyone stands in your way you have the most spectacular meltdowns and tantrums! I’ve had you laid at the top of an escalator in George at Asda and under a till in Tesco. I’ve carried you bodily under my arm kicking and screaming through Tesco car park and had to fight to get you in your car seat on numerous occasions. These are to mention but a few, in fact at the time of writing this we haven’t long returned from a short break in the Lake District, where you had a tantrum every day we were there and had the whole of Hawkeshead village staring at us. Your scream is very loud and catches a lot of attention! You can get yourself very worked up and there is absolutely no reasoning with you. It can take the best part of an hour from start to finish for one of your tantrums. All I can say is that I am sure this will pass (or at least I hope!) and that at least having a strong will should stand you in good stead for future!
You are also a very caring and loving little girl. You regularly tell mummy and daddy how much you love us (as do we you) and this year you were blessed with an adorable baby sister, who you love very, very much. You are such a fantastic big sister and welcomed your baby sister with open arms from the very beginning. You want to see her at the start of every morning and at the end of every night and regularly give her kisses and cuddles and play with her (although you don’t like it much if she touches one of your toys!) If mummy’s leg is hurting or I am struggling you always come to me with a cuddle and a kiss, as well as a rub to make it feel better which is so adorable and makes me smile so much.
You have developed a good friendship with some little girls that live near grandma and you love to go on play dates with them and it is lovely to see good friendships developing. You also have a great relationship with your little cousin and get so excited when you see her. It is so cute to watch you both play and lovely to think that you will grow up close like sisters.
We went on another family holiday to Center Parcs this year and you had a lovely time swimming every day and even had your first game of ten pin bowling too which you loved. It was on this holiday though that you had your first ever accident. Daddy picked you up playfully in the soft play area but stumbled on a soft play block and you both crashed into the netting at the side an unfortunately onto a metal bar that was behind the netting. Mummy was speaking to a lady who’s little girl you were playing with and next thing I saw was daddy coming towards me holding you with blood all over your face. It was very scary but luckily not as bad as it first initially looked. Although you had split your poor little head open, there was no other injury and the lovely staff at Center Parcs looked after you so well and helped us to get to the local hospital to have your head seen to properly. You were so brave and the staff at the hospital gave you a teddy with a bandage above her eye just like yours and this made you smile lots. Poor daddy has been really upset about this ever since.
Since your Center Parcs accident you have been a bit of a walking disaster. You have fallen off your bed whilst jumping, which resulted in cuts all down your nose and a huge bump and bruise on your forehead. You were hit my grandma’s car door when she opened it not realising you were there and this gave you another big bump and bruise on your forehead. You fell of your friend’s ride on horse in his garden landing on your back on the concrete paving and hitting the back of your little head. You’ve given yourself a fat lip on the slide at the playground near grandma’s, how we still aren’t sure, and the very next day you fell over at home whilst wearing your princess shoes and managed to stab yourself in the mouth with your magic wand, severing the piece of skin between your gum and lip! You’ve escaped without any major incidents up until this point and haven’t really been the adventurous, climbing type, but you have certainly had your fair share of bumps and scrapes in the latter half of your second year bless you!
It has certainly been a fun year for you though with lots of firsts. Not only did you have your first ever game of ten pin bowling on holiday but you also tried milkshake and fruit juice for the first time (having only drank water previously) and you decided yourself to go to the toilet like a big girl too, which had been a long time coming but mummy and daddy were very proud of you.
You went to your first ever Pantomime and were mesmerized by the performance, as well as going to a Disney Show, which you loved too. You had your first ever pony ride during a trip to a local farm too, which you asked to do, and although a bit apprehensive when you first got on you really enjoyed it. One of your little friends has her own pony and she has invited us to go riding with her one day, which will be great fun.
We took you to your first proper toddler disco this year too and you danced your little heart out, even getting up on the stage to dance! You love dancing so much that mummy has signed you up for a trial session at a local dance school, which I am hoping you will love.
We already have lots of fun things planned for this next year and you will also start pre-school too so I am sure your third year will bring lots more fun and I can’t wait to enjoy it with you. I love you so, so much gorgeous girl. Happy Birthday x
