I’ve been weaning my little girl for a few weeks now and have so far been doing a combination of my own purees and using pouches of food from baby food manufacturers such as Plum, Hipp Organic and Ellas Kitchen.
Food pouches are great for popping in your bag as they take up very little room and are easy to use. By simply unscrewing the cap baby cane be fed on the spot as needed, once finished you can replace the cap and be on your way. If there’s any food left over you can then pop it in the fridge until the following day or simply use it at their next mealtime the same day should you desire.
I have been using the food pots I had used when I weaned my first daughter and hadn’t known that you could purchase food pouches, so when the lovely team at My Pouch offered to send me some of their reusable food pouches for me to carry my own homemade purees in I jumped at the chance.
My Pouch are really convenient and reusable. You can simply add your own purees, seal them up and be on your way. Once used the pouches can be washed either in the sink or in your dishwasher and reused time and time again. If you find you have made more than you need you can simply add your purees to your My Pouch and pop them in the freezer until you need them.
The pouches are a really good size and you can fit as much or as little into them as you like. They’re really simple to fill too and take a matter of seconds. You simply unseal the top and gently squeeze the pouch to open it out, make sure the screw cap is on the side, and then spoon or pour your puree (or smoothie as you can use them for smoothies too) into the pouch. Make sure you don’t exceed the fill level and then simply clip the seal together and you’re done!
We have found My Pouch food pouches so easy and convenient to use, from filling them and taking them straight out with us, to popping them in the freezer with purees in. When I popped them in the freezer I simply got them out the night before I needed them and they were defrosted and ready to go the next day. Cleaning them is so easy too you simply wash them as you would your regular bowls etc or pop them upside down in the dishwasher (safety cap off).
You can see just how simple they are to use in this video from My Pouch which takes you through the whole process.
We think My Pouch are great, as not only are they really convenient and allow you to take your own home made purees or smoothies out with you, but they also really child-friendly as they are Bpa free and have an anti-swallow safety cap. Anything that is child friendly gets an additional thumbs up from me too!
A single pouch costs £1.99 or you can buy 10 for £9.99 via the My Pouch online shop.
Have you used My Pouch? Is this product new to you? I’d love to know what you think?
