Garden Fun – Britmums #KidsGrowWildChallenge

Regular readers to my blog will know that in the summer we love to have fun out in our garden.

Below are just a few pictures from some of the garden fun we have.

My daughter loves playing in her sandpit, jumping on her trampoline and playing on her slide and when the weather is nice we spend much of our time out in the garden, often taking many of her other toys out to play with. We’ve been putting a tent up for my baby girl to come out and enjoy the garden with us, but to protect her from the heat and sun.

We were recently lucky enough to be sent a giant Mega Hi-Tower game to review and we have had great fun playing in the garden with this too.

More recently my toddler has started helping me water the plants and her daddy loves showing her and talking to her about wildlife and nature.

So when I saw the Britmums #KidsGrowWildChallenge I knew that we just had to join in.

My daughter was thrilled when she received this fab gardening kit in the post as part of the challenge.

The set consists of a lovely gardeners bag with watering can, gardening gloves, two trowels and three packets of seeds (Sunflowers, Pansies and various pretty flowers).

The weather was gorgeous when we received our #kidsgrowwildchallenge kit and we happened to be out in our garden at the time so we immediately set to work planting the seeds.

I set out three different pots to put the flowers in and my daughter loved the fact that these were her seeds to look after and plant. She helped me put the top soil and compost into the pots, before carefully sprinkling the seeds as directed, covering with more soil and watering (or rather drenching! At least it was hot to soak it up!)

We labelled each of the pots with the markers sent to us as part of the pack and every day we go out to water her pots and see how her plants are coming along.

We love our garden and as with many of our other plants that we have caught images of over the last two years (see below image), we hope to see these pots flourish with lots of beautiful colour.

  1. This is such a great activity! I can’t wait until my little one is old enough to enjoy things like this and gardening is a great hobby/interest to nuture at such a young age. Best of luck with the challenge.
